A singer's story...
Patti Bottino-Bravo made her return to the cabaret stage in Dream, Come True - a story of persistence, insistence, and testimony that it truly is never too late to make your dreams a reality.
In the 1980’s, Patti appeared at Dangerfield’s, Panache, Jan Wallman’s, and Panache Encore. She was nominated, along with her singing partner, Sal Bovoso, for Best Newcomer for her show It Takes Two. In addition to her solo and duo cabaret performances, Patti was a member of the a cappella group East River Drive, and she appeared regularly with RendezVous, the house band at the Gregory Hotel in Brooklyn, NY.
Pursuit of a Master’s Degree, and subsequent career in Speech-Language Pathology, put Patti’s cabaret career on the back burner. She has spent the last 25 years working as a speech-language pathologist in educational, health, and academic settings. She currently spends her days doing what she considers her greatest work: helping middle school students with speech-language disorders and dyslexia conquer their challenges to help make their dreams come true.
A chance encounter with the great Marilyn Maye in 2015, led Patti back to the cabaret stage. She has since studied with Ms. Maye, as well as with Lucie Arnaz and Lina Koutrakos (winner of the 2017 MAC Award for Best Director). Dream, Come True is directed by Koutrakos and musical directed by the incomparable Barry Levitt.
Patti made her return debut in September 2016 at The Metropolitan Room, with several subsequent encore performances at Don’t Tell Mama. She has since performed at Davenport’s Cabaret in Chicago in July 2017. In addition, Patti will be appearing at Montparnasse – The Cabaret and Piano Bar in Mykonos, Greece this September… testament to the fact that dreams most certainly do come true!
